(Bangkok Post file photo)Banteay Meanchey provincial authorities plan to create a new border crossing into Sa Kaeo to alleviate heavy traffic at the Poipet checkpoint and also offer migrant workers a new, legal passageway into Thailand. Officials held a meeting at the provincial hall on Monday to discuss opening a new border crossing in Ou Chrov district, the Khmer Times reported on Wednesday. Deputy governor Ly Sary said the new border crossing will allow Cambodians to enter Sa Kaeo, where many migrants already cross illegally. Sary added that authorities plan to build a big road and some infrastructure at the new border crossing.
